“Working at ASE Optics has made me realise how broad the optics sector is.
I am an assembly and production control technician. I studied Telecommunications Installations at Intermediate Level and Electronic Maintenance at Advanced Level.
What is your role in ASE Optics Europe?
I started my career at ASE Optics in 2020. I am currently in charge of production and assemblies focused on electronics.
What did you like about ASE Optics when you decided to apply for the job?
The optics sector was new to me. Working at ASE Optics has made me realise how broad this field is and how many different aspects it covers.
Initially, I was most interested to see how optics, mechanics, and electronics are combined to realise the integrated optical systems we develop.
What do you like most about working at ASE Optics?
Working in this sector means that you are always involved in new projects, no day is like the previous one. There is always something new to face. All of this means that I am gaining a lot of experience within ASE Optics.
Every day I am learning more about the sector together with the different members of the team.
Tell us about one of the biggest challenges you have faced: how did you overcome it?
One of my first challenges when arriving at ASE Optics three years ago was to fully assemble one of our projects, the electronics, and the wiring.
In the beginning, it was quite complicated to interpret all the documentation and understand how it works, to optimise the whole assembly. But at the same time, the fact that different challenges arise throughout your career is exactly what makes us learn and improve every day.
Describe ASE Optics in one sentence.
A dynamic company that combines optics, mechanics, and electronics and produces very complex and interesting equipment and assemblies that are useful for many sectors.
