Thomas Siegel, R&D Director at ASE Optics, presents the paper: «Design and integration of a SWIR objective for the space-borne DRAGO-2 optical system» at the SPIE Optics+Photonics conference in San Diego, USA.
We will present the design and manufacturing process of the objective for the DRAGO-2 optical system, a compact SWIR camera designed for Earth observation onboard the ALISIO-1 microsatellite mission of the IACTEC-Space team at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC). The objective has an athermalised refractive design covering the two bands in the SWIR range, with a focal length of 150 mm, high transmission and relative illumination above 90%, and low distortion below 0.05%. The optical quality is excellent, with an as-built MTF value at 33 cl/mm exceeding 55% on axis and over 40% at the edge of the field.
