Marta de la Fuente, CTO at ASE Optics, participates as a speaker at the EPIC Meeting on Photonics for Space: Opening New Horizons at Exail, with a presentation titled «MORERA: Earth-Observation and AI Technology Available to Every Farmer. Industrialization Challenges.» The presentation focuses on current challenges and future trends in the design and development of LWIR optical systems for Earth observation applications.
On the other hand, the MORERA project will develop a personalized irrigation recommendation system for each plot based on satellite images and Artificial Intelligence, as well as a new generation of miniaturized and compact remote sensing instruments to respond with to the user needs.
MORERA addresses one of the challenges of the «Science and Innovation Missions» call, through which the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) seeks solutions to problems with high societal impact through innovative technologies.
The MORERA consortium is composed of partners LIDAX, TEPRO, ASE OPTICS, and Thales Alenia Space, with Thales Alenia Space as the consortium leader. Each industrial partner is accompanied by a top-level national and European Public Research Organization (PRO), including the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA), the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (IAS-CSIC), and the University of Valencia (UV).
