On Wednesday, May 17, we were at the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), where Thomas Siegel, director of RD at ASE Optics, gave a seminar entitled: “Beyond the lens: optical design and engineering for costum, fully integrated, optical systems development and manufacturing”.
In this conference, Thomas presented the capabilities in design, development, integration and testing of optical systems that ASE offers to companies and research institutes for the development of their projects.
D. students and ICFO researchers, in turn, shared their experiences in order to find collaboration opportunities for future RD projects.
In addition, we took advantage of the visit to finalize one of the phases of the current project with the ICFO-Medical Optics group (ICFO-MEDOPT), delivering the first of a series of 36 spectral filtering units for their Tinybrains project.
What have we done for TINYBRAINS?
Specifically, ASE Optics has been in charge of designing and manufacturing the optical assembly that allows the spectral filtering of the light to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the measurement that the system must carry out.
In the delivery phase, we went to the ICFO for final measurements and tests.
Working together with the client, in coordination, is essential to ensure the success of a development project, and at ASE, we are aware of this.
We leave you more information here, to learn more about our projects.
